Shahrukh Khan To Enter The World Of Politics!
If political grapevine in Mumbai is to be trusted, then Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan is likely to be the newest candidate to make entry into the political world.
King Khan might get a ticket for a Lok Sabha constituency in Mumbai in the ensuing elections.
While lecturing at a press meet, the Regional President of the Congress Party, Kripa Shankar Singh gave big clues
that the party could think about Shahrukh as a contender for the next general elections, if he sought a Congress ticket from the urban centre.
Sources disclosed that this move comes as party MP and comedy king ‘Govinda’ is not interested in fighting the next elections.
To fill up the void caused by his exit, Congress is likely to consider SRK as a party candidate to add a dash of glamour.
Mr. Singh said, “I had invited Shah Rukh to a party function, after which he came closer to the party and if he agrees to contest the elections, we will welcome him.”
Presently Shahrukh is in LA to shoot for Karan Johar’s upcoming film ‘My Name is Khan’, with Kajol.
SRK’s film ‘Billu Barber’, which stars Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta, is due for release early in 2009. The film is produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and features guest appearances from Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, making it a star-packed extravaganza.
In a poll conducted by Samay News Channel, SRK was voted the ‘King of Bollywood’ with Katrina Kaif the ‘Queen.’
